Learn to learn, learn to live, learn to fly

We are Cabra

We are a Catholic college in Adelaide, South Australia, guided in faith by the Dominican Sisters who started Cabra in 1886. We are a welcoming, inclusive, co-educational environment, providing the ideal setting for students in years 7 to 12 to flourish.

Our Vision

Cabra Dominican College, as a Christian community in the Catholic tradition, strives to nurture and develop the unique gifts of individuals, to liberate them in the search for truth, and to empower them to create a better world.

Our Mission

Our mission is to be a place of excellence in teaching and learning in the Catholic tradition. We have a strong commitment to outreach and social justice and encourage critical thinking and self-confidence. We work to provide a stimulating learning environment, which is holistic, and encourages and supports each teacher and student to be his or her best.

Last week we gathered to celebrate our Welcoming Eucharist. As our theme for the year is, “Stories of the Past, Dreams of the Future”, we consciously celebrated the many stories in our community that have shaped us and continue to shape this school. Our sacred space was decorated with 1000+ personal images and reflections that captured a formative moment in the lives of our students and staff. It was a visual acknowledgement that our community has been proudly built on the stories of Jesus, Dominic and our Sisters, on our stories, and on the stories yet to be told.
Father Peter Sheedy celebrated mass for us and our homily was presented by Sister Bernadette. She captivated our community with her sharing of stories about some of our present and past Dominican Sisters. Her sharing showed us that telling stories has a special way of creating community and of reminding us of what is important.
