Cabra’s Enrolment Policy has a priority system that offers places to children in the following categories:
- Students attending local Catholic parish schools
- Students from other Catholic schools
- Students with siblings currently enrolled at Cabra Dominican College
- Children of Cabra old scholars
- Students from Catholic families in other sectors including government and independent schools
- Students from other sectors including government and independent schools
In exceptional circumstances the Principal may vary the above priorities to suit local circumstances at the time. Each application for enrolment will also be viewed on its merit.
Should the number of applications in the priority categories exceed the number which can be accommodated, then preference will be given on the basis of the date of lodgement of the application.
In accepting a place at Cabra Dominican College, parents/caregivers, as well as the students, consent to abide by the college rules and expectations. Sincerity in the willingness to support the Catholic Ethos and contribute positively to the general life of the college must also be demonstrated.
Enrolment interviews for our main Year 7 intake are conducted, where possible, when your child is in Year 5. These meetings provide us with an opportunity to discuss your application in person and to learn more about your child. Our senior members of staff who conduct the interviews are also well placed to answer any questions that you might have about our educational programs and other opportunities available to Cabra students.
Offers of Enrolment
Enrolment places are offered in accordance with the Enrolment Priority criteria and according to the number of places available for each enrolment year.
Following the interview process, parents/caregivers will be notified if a place at the college is being offered.
Applications for enrolment received after the closing date and first round of interviews, are held and placed onto our waiting list, if there are no vacancies available at the time of submission. Although we try our best to offer enrolment to all families, especially those that meet the criteria, enrolment cannot be guaranteed.
